BREAKING: McKayla Maroney`s coaches are under SafeSport investigation again — 10 years after she blew the whistle in her GymCastic interview.
Artur Akopyan and Galina Marinova of All Olympia Gymnastics Center are now on the USA Gymnastics Suspended & Restricted Persons list with the interim restriction "No Unsupervised Contact with Minors." It`s their second SafeSport investigation since 2020. USA Gymnastics notes an interim measure is not a finding of misconduct.
In February 2016 (Episode 187), Maroney told us their coaching style "breaks gymnasts" — "I agree. I completely agree." She described dismissed injuries, isolation at competitions, and being "terrified to get hurt." Both coaches have denied abusing gymnasts.
