I think a college person would be good. They would just know basics about administration and people skills.

Hi Jessica and Spencer! I just graduated with my Master’s degree in Organizational Change Leadership and your idea about doing an interview AND placing them in the situation to see how they would handle it is actually spot on. My program included leadership and adult learning classes in addition to organization change, and if I was asked to come into help with this specific situation (in real life I never would be, I am still learning about gymnastics) I would 100% recommend that to be part of process. Interviewing both gymnasts and coaches to find out what they want from someone in that role should also be included when it comes to hiring someone AND writing up their job description/responsibilities.
