This is my first time posting here, so apologies if this is not the right spot. I'm not sure where else to seek out insight from people who "get it" or have similar experience and can provide outside perspective to share.

I have been coaching USAG Competitive for 15 years. I'm in my 3rd cycle of burnout and I have tried so many different things to mitigate it and I'm now at a point where I need to make a transition - it is affecting my mental health severely and my life outside of work is not existent.

I'm 36 years old and I've done a multitude of different things in addition to coaching (retail, fitness professional, fitness studio management, certified massage therapist, B2B sales). I competed NCAA gymnastics, have a degree in Communications and I just don't know how or where to transition my skillsets to something else that is not as all encompassing/mentally demanding/identity consuming but that also pays the bills.

If anyone here has transitioned out of coaching, has any ideas or leads on positions or opportunities, let me know, hit me up, point me in some sort of direction!

Hi Melissa,

Ugh, I'm so sorry you're experiencing your third (!!!) round of burnout.  I would recommend trying project management.  It involves quite a bit of the same skills (juggling multiple priorities, herding all the kittens - I mean people - to be going in the same direction, up chain and down chain communication, etc.).  Start with a PMP training course and then look for an entry level position.  Once you pack on experience you can get your PMP certification.  Though you can probably leverage quite a bit of what you've been doing... (note the certification requires some qty of documented PM experience - I don't remember what it is).

I know you posted this a while back but feel free to hit me up either here or absolutelynot573 @ gmail.

Regardless, I hope spring is finding you refreshed and less crushed by existence.

~Jenn
