World Elite Power Ranking – October 13, 2025

We haven’t done a proper Elite Power Ranking since right before the Paris Olympics. A lot has happened since then and a lot of the names that dominated the top of our list fifteen months ago are taking this World Championships off. What makes this list tricky is that we’re only considering gymnasts we expect to see compete at the World Championships in Jakarta and then we have to consider who we think will medal, how dominant are they on an apparatus or multiple, how consistent are they and more. So while Simone Biles and Rebeca Andrade would obviously hold their spots on this list if they were actively competing, we have also left off gymnasts who have been recently active like Manila Esposito and Shoko Miyata because they won’t be competing in Jakarta.

Angelina Melnikova

Previous Ranking: N/A

Melnikova is by far the most decorated athlete in the Worlds field with the highest proven all-around scoring potential. She’s also the 2021 World All-Around Champion with a total collection of 7 world and 4 Olympic medals. She recently posted on social media that she’s dealing with a knee injury so that is something to watch.

While Nemour is the favorite for bars gold based on her history and potential, Yang Fanyuwei is the true challenger to her bars throne. You might remember her from her eponymous Jaeger full which she got named after herself earlier this year.

The last time Leanne appeared in the top 20 of our World Elite Power ranking list was in 2023. Leanne is the 2025 U.S. leader in the all-around (healthy category) on 56.100, and she’s the world vault leader. From what we’ve seen, Lyudmila is probably the most well-rounded of the new AIN Russians and is a spoiler pick for medals. Don’t be surprised if you see her name above Melnikova’s when the dust settles in Jakarta.

Coming off an historic Brazilian bronze team performance at the Paris Olympics, might this be the year Flavia gets her Worlds beam medal? With many of her peers not competing at worlds this year it could be her time if she just continues to do Flavia things on beam.

Anna is the only person with a 57-plus all-around score this year (granted it’s a highly questionable Russian Cup score). Nonetheless, she’s the most powerful of the AIN Russians with handspring Rudi on vault and a double layout full on floor. The big question is whether or not we’ll see her do the all-around.

While Kalmykova has a questionable all-around score inside her home country, Sugihara Aiko is the only person to have broken 14 on floor outside of her home country this year. If she can repeat that in Jakarta she could be collecting some hardware.

Amazingly, for a variety of circumstances Skye has never made our top 20 ranking before. She was on our list to make the 2024 Paris Olympic team prior to her injury at trials. Now she’s back competing on bars and beam and is the highest scoring U.S. athlete (outside of vault) this year when she stays on.
