Hi all! Total gymnerd questions about the fantasy league:
Does anyone know what happens if your gymnast doesn't compete in a given week? I have Florida athletes on my team and they don't start competing till next weekend. So I'm assuming I need to change my roster or risk a zero in week 1?
Also, if a team competes two meets in a weekend, how does that factor into scoring?
Maybe I'm getting too specific, but I feel like if Spencer helped create this league he has already given thought to these scenarios. Appreciate any insights anyone can offer. I couldn't find any detailed rules online.
So excited for the season to kick off tomorrow!
@amanda-lane I'm pretty sure it's a zero based on some of the back and forth in the FAQ thread. But I had not paid nearly enough attention to who had a bye this week and appreciate you mentioning this because I had 7 Florida gymnasts in my lineup!
(I don't know about the 2 meets in a weekend thing.)
I think the point is that each week you can pick an all new team so this week you can pick people that are competing then next week you can add athletes who are on byes this week.
@amanda-lane Yes, if a gymnast doesn't compete you will receive a zero.
And yes, you can change your lineup each week.
Regarding the multiple scores in a single week... we think it will be the average of the two. If that doesn't work/happen within the system it'll then default to either the higher score or the first score. I know that doesn't really answer the question, but this is the process we're working through. Hope this helps clarify things.
Will prices change through the season as gymnasts do better/worse. Are are the prices locked for the entire season?
@jessica-ruud We may adjust the prices, but haven't decided frequency. It's more likely than not that we will. The reason we wouldn't is because as soon as we adjust the price everyone has to re-select their teams. We'll let everyone know if/when we update the pricing.
I have created two line up's under two different emails but when I log into each I only see the one I created under that email and not the one I created under a different email?
When do the scores start updating? Is it after the meet ends?
Are the scores we get on the fantasy league the same scored that the gymnasts get out of 10??
@emma-pratt You'll probably have to login with the separate email address to see it. If you're looking for the other team on the list of players, the list only shows 50... and there's way more than 50 players. You'll be able to see the top 50 players, plus your team if you're outside of the top 50.
@kathryn-foessel We plan to have the scores updated Tue. after all the meets conclude for the week. We don't have a simple way to just pipe them into the system unfortunately.
@ciara-casserly Yes. And the league ranking is based on your team's total score.
I have a gymnast I put up on vault (Ohio State's Payton Harris) and she received a 9.875 in the meet. In my fantasy (team called Carole Help Me) she has a 0 currently. Weird
@madeleine-c Hi Lani. We haven't input all the scores yet. We'll post when all the scores are updated and the week 1 totals are "official."
I wonder whether it is purely to wind up Jessica that in the league standings, where there are ties for placements, the number given in the rankings is the lowest of the ones for the tied places - i.e. there's currently a "1" then two "T-3"s - Jessica's worst nightmare?
Though Spencer is 100% correct that the place below that is, and should be, be 4. That's just logic.
