GymCastic Fantasy Gymnastics League

What Is It?

The main league is a season-long fantasy league for the 2024 NCAA gymnastics season (and we plan to continue into the domestic and international elite seasons).

Yeah, But What is Fantasy Gymnastics?

Fantasy gymnastics is your opportunity to play head coach and create your own lineups each week during the season to see if you can outscore your fellow gym nerds.

How Does It Work?

Select a lineup of 5 athletes on each of the four apparatus. You are given a fictitious budget of $75,000 to create your roster. The higher the ranking of the athlete, the higher cost to add them to your roster. Our current pricing structure:

Tier 1 – 10 gymnasts, $6,250
Tier 2 – gymnasts, $5,000
Tier 3 – gymnasts, $3,000
Tier 4 – gymnasts, $2,000
Tier 5 – Everyone else, $1,000

You can set your lineup once and see how it goes or you can modify your roster each week.

  • Once logged in you should see a button that says Set Lineup.
  • There's a dropdown menu to sort your selections by apparatus
  • **IMPORTANT: Click "Finish" under your selected athletes to SAVE your lineup.

At the end of the week's competitions, we will update the scores within the system and you will be able to see how your team scored compared to everyone else within the league.

At the end of the season, the team with the highest cumulative points wins.

Do I Have to Spend All My Money?

No. You just can't go over the salary cap.

Can Everyone Draft the Same Athletes?

Yes. That also means if you want to separate yourself, you'll want to find those extra tenths wherever you can.

Can Friends Join?

Yes! Anyone can join. The league is open to all.

Can I Give My Team A Name?

Yes. Half the fun of fantasy sports is coming up with creative names... we may even reward our favorites.

Can I Start My Own League?

Yes. Create it and name it whatever you want. Your league will mimic the GymCastic league settings.

What Happens if An Athlete Competes Twice in One Week?

We're going to take the top score.

What Happens if an Athlete Doesn't Compete or They're On a Bye?

If the athlete is on your roster and they don't put up a score because they don't compete or are on a bye, unfortunately you get a zero.

I'm Late Here... Can I Still Join?

Yes. You can start playing at any time, but you likely won't find yourself atop the leaderboard at the end of the season. With that said, creating lineups is fun, so welcome aboard.

What Do I Get Out of It?

Aside from the fun of setting your lineups and seeing how brilliant you are... GymCastic is going to give away a free, full commissioned episode to the GymCastic League winner. If there are multiple winners, we will draw a name from the tied teams.

Lastly, this is new for us too, so we're brainstorming other prizes as the season gets going. More on that in the near future.

Anything Else?

We started this league for the community, so we want your feedback. Please send us an email (include Fantasy in the Subject line) or drop a note in the new Fantasy section on the Forum—where you can also chat with each other.

@julie-spray Hi Julie, here’s a link to Oklahoma from 2023: https://roadtonationals.com/results/teams/dashboard/2023/47

Be sure to click on the roster then the individual gymnast to see their scores. You should also be able to then change the team. Hope this helps.

@louwilson314 I don’t believe they are available in the system. We had to limit the number of gymnasts. Sorry.

@sgreen3 Hi Samantha, we have an answer. The app and the website aren't syncing properly at the moment for some with the login information.

However, if you simply sign-up with the same account on the app (verify the address again when it asks) you should then be able to login and see your lineup, etc. (pro tip: give the app a second to load your lineup if you don't see it immediately... the system is working overtime with all the players right now).

@gymcastic This all worked — thank you so much for looking into it!

CAL just officially welcomed Brandi Kikuno (they had hinted there was a new Jan gymnast) so she needs to be added to the league…

Can you clarify how many scores per event count? Is it max of five but four count? Or three?

@melissa-brown 5 up 5 count. So if you have a person in your lineup that doesn't compete on that event, you'll get a zero for that person--yes, it makes it difficult 🤔

@gymcastic what time does editing lock each week? Just went on and looks like it's locked but wanted to confirm when you lock thanks!

@another-gymnastics-fan It locked this morning as you mentioned. We're going to to be a little fluid and lock as late as possible before the competitions start. We'll try to be better about announcing so people can plan ahead. For now, plan on Friday mornings as the default.

I totally didnʻt factor in that same teams donʻt start until Jan. 12. So I think my lineup is all messed up. This led me to wonder- what defines a week- Week 1- Jan. 5th- January 11?

@danielle-makaike In this first week, we're running the week through Monday to include Central Michigan @ Arizona State. We expect this to be the schedule moving forward with scores posted on Tue.

@danielle-makaike in the same boat. I had several UMD gymnasts and just realized today they don’t compete this week. So will be getting several zeros for the week, I guess

@gymcastic I can’t see my team listed on the leaderboard on Gymcastic but when I log into Fantasizr it’s there. Please can I check you have me logged with a team (team is PleaseSomeoneExplainNCAA 😂). I submitted before the deadline so really hoping it’s included! Thank you!

Word to the wise if others hadn't been paying attention to this quite yet: Scroll all the way to the bottom and SAVE your changes to your lineups, so you don't have multiple gymnasts on bye this week that you thought you switched out but didn't. 🙃 😩 😡

@lifeissofull I am so confused because I made changes and hit save and submit but for some reason my first draft (before swapping out people I realized were on a bye) somehow was the one that got used

I would like to request that we be able to set our Fantasy teams starting Monday mornings. Mondays are really the only day that I have anytime to work on my Fantasy team, so it's frustrating to not have a set/day time on when new weeks open. Even if Tuesday became the official day, I feel like that's limiting the amount of time that team owners have to work on their teams.

@amanda-campau Thank you for the feedback. We'll see what we can do. Our understanding with the system that we're using is that the lineups stay locked until all the scores are input; and there's a meet tonight that we're counting for week 1. We'll see if there's a way we can get around this.

Does anyone know how Double Headers are evaluated in the Fantasy League? Since weeks go from Thursday to Monday, Utah and other teams have two meets in week 2. What happens if I put Mailee in my line-ups? Does the best score count, the worst or maybe just the score from the first meet? (Maybe a bad example if she gets two 10.0s on BB this week lol)

So I had Maile O'Keefe in my line up on beam this week (january 6/7) but here score isn't counted in my stats. I looked at the other teams and other people also don't get her score. Maybe I'm too fast and the scores are still being updated but I wanted to point this out
