GymCastic Fantasy Gymnastics League

What Is It?

The main league is a season-long fantasy league for the 2024 NCAA gymnastics season (and we plan to continue into the domestic and international elite seasons).

Yeah, But What is Fantasy Gymnastics?

Fantasy gymnastics is your opportunity to play head coach and create your own lineups each week during the season to see if you can outscore your fellow gym nerds.

How Does It Work?

Select a lineup of 5 athletes on each of the four apparatus. You are given a fictitious budget of $75,000 to create your roster. The higher the ranking of the athlete, the higher cost to add them to your roster. Our current pricing structure:

Tier 1 – 10 gymnasts, $6,250
Tier 2 – gymnasts, $5,000
Tier 3 – gymnasts, $3,000
Tier 4 – gymnasts, $2,000
Tier 5 – Everyone else, $1,000

You can set your lineup once and see how it goes or you can modify your roster each week.

  • Once logged in you should see a button that says Set Lineup.
  • There's a dropdown menu to sort your selections by apparatus
  • **IMPORTANT: Click "Finish" under your selected athletes to SAVE your lineup.

At the end of the week's competitions, we will update the scores within the system and you will be able to see how your team scored compared to everyone else within the league.

At the end of the season, the team with the highest cumulative points wins.

Do I Have to Spend All My Money?

No. You just can't go over the salary cap.

Can Everyone Draft the Same Athletes?

Yes. That also means if you want to separate yourself, you'll want to find those extra tenths wherever you can.

Can Friends Join?

Yes! Anyone can join. The league is open to all.

Can I Give My Team A Name?

Yes. Half the fun of fantasy sports is coming up with creative names... we may even reward our favorites.

Can I Start My Own League?

Yes. Create it and name it whatever you want. Your league will mimic the GymCastic league settings.

What Happens if An Athlete Competes Twice in One Week?

We're going to take the top score.

What Happens if an Athlete Doesn't Compete or They're On a Bye?

If the athlete is on your roster and they don't put up a score because they don't compete or are on a bye, unfortunately you get a zero.

I'm Late Here... Can I Still Join?

Yes. You can start playing at any time, but you likely won't find yourself atop the leaderboard at the end of the season. With that said, creating lineups is fun, so welcome aboard.

What Do I Get Out of It?

Aside from the fun of setting your lineups and seeing how brilliant you are... GymCastic is going to give away a free, full commissioned episode to the GymCastic League winner. If there are multiple winners, we will draw a name from the tied teams.

Lastly, this is new for us too, so we're brainstorming other prizes as the season gets going. More on that in the near future.

Anything Else?

We started this league for the community, so we want your feedback. Please send us an email (include Fantasy in the Subject line) or drop a note in the new Fantasy section on the Forum—where you can also chat with each other.

I know you're still working out the kinks.  Is it possible to list the gymnasts we've selected on each event?  I know it has them listed on the right side but they're not in any order.  Also, it doesn't tell you how many on each event you have selected.  I just spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to figure out why I only had 4 vaulters but zero selects left.  Turned out, I had 6 gymnasts on floor.  Sigh.

Thanks so much - I can't wait for the meets to start!

Liz

@erin-raffety Hi Erin. We believe this was a syncing problem between the app and the website where the cache wasn't resetting. This should be corrected now. Please let us know if you're still not seeing your lineup reflected in the app.

@michelle-green0810sbcglobal-net You can only have one team per league per email.

E.g., You can have a team in our public league and also play in a custom personal league with the same email, but you can't have two teams with the same email in our public league. We hope that makes sense.

@jeanine-kivimaki We followed up and we found out that Yahoo and Hotmail addresses sometimes don't receive the confirmation email because they get blocked by the services even before getting to a spam folder. (This might happen to other addresses as well, but these are the big ones).

Please shoot us an email with the address used: customerservice@gymcastic.com and we can manually approve it on the backend. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

@shanna-buster The lineups are running from Tuesday - Monday.

We will lock the lineups as close to the start of competition as we can. In week 1, we're going to lock the lineups on Friday morning.

@elizabeth-rodol Thank you for the feedback. That's good to know that you had 6 athletes selected on floor. It should stop you once you hit 5. We'll look into that.

Regarding the other suggestions... we agree. We're working hard to improve the system and take to heart all of these suggestions. The best thing we can recommend for now is to use the mock draft planner spreadsheet which was updated today with all the athlete salaries listed.

Has anyone figured out editing a team they submitted within the league?  I can see it in the list at the leaderboard, but I have no idea how I can edit it.

@richlallen Click on set line-up. Your line-up will appear on the right along with the full list of available gymnasts on the left.  Then you can edit your line-up.

The mock planning spreadsheet and the actual game have different dollar amounts for the same gymnast.  E.g.  in my actual team Courtney Blackson on UB is $3000 but on the planning spreadsheet salary tab she is $5000.   My entire team on the actual game is $74,500.  When I put that team into the worksheet and use the salaries on the salary tab, my total comes to $80,500.

@cordelia Thank you Cordelia. We'll look into it.

Update: We found the discrepencies in the individual athletes we added. We think we've caught them on the mock sheet. Thank you again!

Are all the LIU Gymnasts missing for a reason? I'm late to the party and a few eps behind but was wanting to add Syd Morris to my team

Anyone been able to log into the Fantasizr mobile app? I created my account on the website and verified my email, but when I log in with the same credentials that work on the site (desktop and mobile, and I’m using LastPass so I know it’s not me mistyping) it says “invalid”.

Okay so maybe this is a really stupid question but do you need to keep in mind that an athlete you drafted may not be in the lineups? So when they are not, you don't get any points in this legue. I sometimes watch college gymnastics but I'm not super up to date so I don't know which gymnast does which event specifically and if they are in the lineup etc...

@amber-nielson i agree about the format, 5 up 5 count means that we're left focusing on which gymnast is most likely to be put up on that apparatus rather than who has the best scoring potential. No point worrying about extra tenths if a gymnast gets rested that week and we drop 10 whole points.

On the BTS Jessica was looking at I think Road to Nationals and seeing individual gymnasts average scores on different apparatus. Could you please link us to this as I can't find it.

@evi-van-berkel yes, that’s correct. This makes it a bit more challenging by intention.
