I listened to episode 9 and the discussion about the US not sending gymnasts to international meets other than Jesolo, Pacific Rim, Worlds, and Pan Ams. You did mention Brenna Dowell being sent to the Mexico Open. I kept waiting to hear you announce Elizabeth Price being sent to the Stuttgart World Cup and the Glasgow World Cup which are part of the same series as the America Cup, but I never heard it. I believe these actions by Marta (Brenna and Elizabeth assignments) are evidence that she is sending gymnasts to some of the other competitions to get international experience. It is true that the juniors don’t seem to get to go to anything other than the Pacific Rims and the Pan Ams.

You are totally right. How could we forget EBEE! Unacceptable! We shall thrash ourselves properly and make this correction on the next episode. Many thanks for the correction.

Looks like GB is taking dead aim at the mid-quad giganti-worlds with the continental championship/worlds qualifyer idea. This is now the only worlds that most countries will ever be able to send a full team to. That’s why it’s gotten so huge. He probably intends for a way for individuals to qualify so I don’t think it’s a problem for countries that can’t field a full team to still get their individuals to worlds. I’m a fan of giganti-worlds.

Maybe USAG should try to get Ralph Lauren in on leotard designs. He’s into Americana and already designs the Olympic ceremonies. On the other hand, Ralph Lauren leos would probably all be solid colors, perhaps with polo collars added.
